Here in the Florida Keys, the fishing can be very very difficult. We're looking for every single advantage that we can get. We love to fish for Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, Redfish, things that stick their fins out of the water or that will make a disturbance with the bait or if we find the bait we can find the fish. One great way to do that is to use binoculars on the flats.

The binoculars will help us to sit down in a place on a calm day and then scan a large area to see if we're either seeing rolling tarpon or tailing fish or maybe we're looking for where we can find the bait. So we're looking for diving birds. Nikon makes these 10x42 monarchs. These things are fantastic for kind of the go-to battle-ax.

But there's also a special one that I really liked a lot and that is the 7x50 Ocean Pro. This has a really cool feature in it. That's got a compass and you can see the compass heading when you're looking through so if I'm scanning for birds offshore and if we see a bird going down to the water, we've probably found the fish so if I call out 30 degrees, which is where I'm looking right here the captain can turn the boat to 30 degrees and we can start heading there. Other people with their binoculars can also look at 30 degrees and we can all be looking at the same thing and the person who sees it doesn't ever have to take their eyes off the fish.

This is a huge advantage, Nikon makes over 25 different models that are both waterproof and fog proof, so you can find a model whether it's this 7x50 Ocean Pro or whatever it is. It's perfect for your fishing in the Nikon lineup.
