So one of the most common questions I get is, “what kind of Rod should I buy? I'm not looking to spend too much money, but I want a good quality Rod.” Well, I am determined that this right here this Mojo series from St Croix is a great choice. I've been using them for the last few years. It’s a super high-quality rod at a reasonable price and very very durable.
This is a Mojo Salt, it’s about a 20-pound class rod. I'm using this for almost everything now offshore. I'm using it for a sailfish or dolphin. I'm using an inshore for the big sharks and big tarpon and its super high-quality, I have not had any breaks.
I'm putting this rod in the hand of people that have little or no experience and they catch these giant fish with no prior experience. No tips break. No guides break, just super durable matching it up with a Diawa 6500 Saltist. So it's a really great quality combo at a reasonable price the rods under $200 and I've used it for a couple of years and had no problems with it.
Then there's the Mojo Inshore. This is just a slightly different series there. They've come with the cork grips. These are under $150 the same kind of quality very durable. It's kind of a medium action rod. I like it for jigging, using it to catch small Tarpon, Redfish, Snook, Permit, a little bit of everything… This one is also super durable, again, had no tips break off of these. That's been a big problem with a lot of rods over the years is tips breaking especially with, you know, inexperienced people using them.
